A Great Resource For Beginning Photographers

Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I wanted to share with you a great resource for learning about the basics of photography. My great friends Scoot Bourne & Richard Herrington just released an iBook called, “Learn The Basics Of Photographic Light & Exposure”. This little book is just wonderful, it teaches a beginning photographer everything they need to know, to fully take control of a camera. I consider this book a foundational tool for a beginning photographer that owns an iPad.
First things first, since this isn’t just any old run of the mill book, it is only available for the iPad. However this book and soon all iBooks will be available to iPhone users. One of the reasons this book is so great, is the way the information is presented. I have heard, “Content Is King” in the past and if this is the case this content truly is King! The days of reading a book with eye numbing text and a few pictures for good measure, are over. When you break down (like I did) and finally get an iPad, a whole new world of sexy and sleek learning tools open up to you. Scott and Rich really did a great job putting together this book.
In this book, not only are there incredible example images attached to each section like a normal book, but there are embedded slideshows and video clip explanations. These are extremely useful to help the reader to gain a full understanding of the information being presented. One of the added features in this book are a little mini quizzes at the end of several sections to test your understanding of the information being presented. When you view this book on a platform such as an iPad, it becomes a beautiful experience. Many of the images used in this book are just stunning. One in particular is a landscape that spans from page right to page left as you slide from one page to the next. I cant say it enough, on my iPad, the imagery is so beautiful, and the landscape shot, is just one of so many wonderful images that make this book so much better than any paper book could ever dream to be.
As we evolve as a society, we change in how we consume information. The iPad, to me, has always seemed as a kind of status symbol for rich people and spoiled kids. I am not rich and I am definitely not a spoiled kid and I am so glad I got past my issues with owning an iPad. Yes there are many tablets on the market, but very few of them can deliver an experience like the one being offered by Scott and Rich. I have to say this simple little $3.99 digital book has changed how I want to learn and I hope that written text will one day become an interactive experience.
I have always dreamed of making a book that has video embedded in the pages (you know, that Harry Potter stuff). The reason is so that the readers that are visual learners, like myself, can absorb the content easier. This is is why you see that, when I make a post, I try to add a supporting video. It’s extra work but I don’t mind because I am helping those, like myself, learn.
Thanks for taking time to visit today, below is a mini review of the new book. I hope you all have a wonderful day. Sincerely, Thomas Shue

I’d love a code for the book. I’m all about visual learning and this looks fantastic!!
