Advanced Skin Retouching, A Non Destructive Workflow Part 1

Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I offer part one in a series of Advanced retouching videos. I work in Lightroom for almost everything and I feel it is the worlds best Library, Archive and Digital Darkroom available. With that said, I also use Photoshop. In Photoshop you can release creative and artistic expression with the use of the vast array of available tools. I use both programs together because there isn’t any photo editing problem that I can’t deal with, with them.
The most important thing to consider, when doing retouching, is to leave yourself some sort of safety net. If you make a mistake, you can go back and fix it. While you may like what you have done to an image, while retouching, the client might just hate it. In the end the client is paying the bills, so you have to make sure they are happy. I have committed to a 100% completely non destructive workflow while working in both Lightroom and Photoshop. When you hand files back and forth from Lightroom to Photoshop, there is a specific way you must handle the process to ensure you have the ability to go back and make changes.
In the video below, I show you my skin retouching workflow that allows the freedom to retouch an image, anyway you dream of and allows you to undo your changes, at any time. This workflow is extremely flexible and a huge time saver. Enjoy! Thomas Shue
