Member Requested Tutorial, The Contact Sheet in Lightroom by Colleen Thomas

Hi and welcome to my blog. Today’s post demonstrates how to make a Contact Sheet in Lightroom. If you find yourself selling a lot of prints in your photography business, you might want to consider using a contact sheet. A contact sheet is also known as a proof sheet and is a great tool for use with any client. It can be used for many things, but one of the main reasons is for image selection. I use contact sheets to show my clients how the final images will look, and intend to use for larger prints. Contact sheets have been around for decades and what started off in the film days has made it’s way to digital. With Lightroom you can make them in seconds, and offer them to your client as an actual print, or in a digital form. It’s so easy to do and you might want to consider the use of one on your next job.
A member of this blog named Colleen Thomas said she likes to use Bay Photo because they offered her a contact sheet, and she liked to use them with her clients. I told her that Lightroom can easily make a contact sheet and she could print her own or just have them printed at her local lab. This saves her time and money because she doesn’t have to pay shipping from the Bay Photo or waste time waiting for the print to be shipped.
So today it’s Contact Sheet creation inside Lightroom. Have a great day. Thomas Shue.
