Lilsamedia.com Blog Lighting Tutorial, “Where Do You Put The Light”
Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I share a video about lighting, specifically, where to put the light. You see, placement of the light is a very subjective subject. Everyone has their own ideas on what is right or wrong, however, if you take lighting as serious as I do, you will do a lot of investigation into the subject. When you have gathered all available information, then and only then, can you make a decision on what is right or wrong.
One of the best ways I have found to study light is to look at art. I am into making portraits so I look at pieces from masters of portrait. I study works from Rembrant, William Bouguereau, Largillierre, the list is vast and if you look at their works study the shadows, it will tell you so much. The most important thing it will tell you is where to put your lights. There is a right and wrong place to put the light. The difference in the correct placement can be a matter of inches. In the video I show you what I mean.
Thanks for taking time to visit my blog today. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask below. Have a great day. Thomas Shue
